Life in Leiper’s Fork.
When friends and family come visit Nashville, my first question is, “have I taken you to Leiper’s Fork?” If you don’t know much about Leiper’s, it’s a small unincorporated town about 15 minutes west of downtown Franklin. While it isn’t the typical ‘tourist trap’ one might expect when visiting Nashville, it’s rare that it isn’t everyone’s favorite part of their trip. Truly charming and encapsulating of what Middle Tennessee should be, Leiper’s Fork is my top suggestion not only for visitors, but also for those pondering where they should land when moving to the Greater Nashville area.
Spanning only a mile or two, the downtown Leiper’s Fork strip boasts a handful of humble, yet impressive, businesses. You might not guess driving down the street the impression these small businesses will have on you when you walk in the door. From Chris Stapleton’s wife’s tiny turquoise store hidden behind a beautiful, quaint gallery - Leiper’s Creek Gallery - to the beautiful gifts and decor at David Arms, every inch of the area feels intentional and passion-backed. While roaming this pocket of Williamson County, you can indulge in home-cooked breakfast at Country Boy, home-cooked BBQ at the famous Fox and Locke, and glasses of wine while your feet are in the stone-filled running creek, courtesy of Wine in the Fork.
At this point, I’m sure you’re sold on visiting Leiper’s Fork and re-visiting with every friend or family member you host, but what about living in Leiper’s Fork? While it might seem remote and too cut-off from the bustling city, it only sits about 15 minutes from Downtown Franklin, which will have everything you need: grocery stores, boutiques, restaurants, and school systems. Coupled with the convenient location is the serene setting you’ll stumble upon every direction you go. The properties surrounding Leiper’s Fork are some of the most beautiful, luxurious homes in Middle Tennessee and possibly the entire Southeast region. The best way to describe it is “luxurious slow living”. Enjoy coffee on the porch, horses in the field, and maybe a few neighbors that sing your favorite country songs.
I’m a huge advocate of Leiper’s Fork and the homes all around it. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you frequent the area or answer questions if you don’t.
